Position Title: Office Co-ordinator

Reporting to: Manager

Contract Type: Full Time/ Maternity Leave Cover

Duration: 9-12 Months

Commencement: Immediate


Reporting to the Manager, the Office Co-ordinator will be responsible for the day to day management and administration of the Credit Union. The successful candidate will have a wide range of managerial, administrative, operational and accounting functions.


Key Responsibilities


  • The Office Co-ordinator will provide effective daily management of the credit union office while ensuring that a high quality service is provided to its members in line with the credit union's business objectives and policy.
  • Provide overall direction and leadership in the management of the Credit Union.
  • Support the Manager in establishing performance targets for all key operations of the Credit Union in line with Board policy.
  • Monitor, review and oversee the performance of staff and maintain an effective working environment for all employees.
  • Provide an efficient lending service to members within the authorised limits granted to the Office Co-ordinator  and other credit officers and to interview loan applicants for loans up to their authorised limit.
  • To support in the development of annual operating budgets and plans as well as capital budgets and programmes for all operations.
  • Management of service providers.
  • Organisation of staff rota, annual leave and staff daily tasks.
  • To ensure the achievement within agreed timescales of planned operational targets and service levels within agreed revenue and expenditure budgets.
  • To authorise expenditure within budget in accordance with guidelines agreed with the Board.
  • Ensure implementation of agreed Board policies and credit union procedures.
  • To ensure that there is adequate planning of the credit union annual statutory audit for AGM
  • To attend and contribute to meetings of such committees as may be directed by the Board.
  • To represent the Credit Union in its dealings with external bodies and to undertake such negotiations with staff, external service providers, partners and other Credit Unions as may be necessary. To undertake such representational and/or ceremonial duties as may be directed by the Board.
  • To undertake all other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by the Board.


Person Specification

  • Applicants must hold a QFA, CUA or similar qualification, with managerial experience within the Credit Union movement or a related financial institution.
  • Experience in dealing with regulatory authorities is desirable. Strong leadership, excellent communication, people management skills and computer competency are prerequisites for this role.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the ethos and practice of the Credit Union movement and the associated regulatory framework will be an advantage
